Tree propagation for Permaculture, how and why, Regenerative Permaculture Farm and Garden Podcast 12
Permaculture is design, but the design need physical aspects to become more than imagination. Trees are a major part of a lot of permaculture and regenerative farms and organic food garden systems. Have you priced quality trees lately, the price might give anyone sticker shock when buying a volume of trees. Lets face it, too plant what we can see on some videos of permaculture and regenerative farms would bust the several hundred thousand mark and even over a million dollars in plants. That cost will make most of us weak in the knees. First off, most systems are not planted at one time, but over several years. The real money to build a real system if you buy all your plants can be over whelming.
So why grow your own trees, you can save money, extend your systems, build more diversity with in your system, and make some of that evil money we all hear about. These are practical reasons to grow your own trees. We cover several reasons you should have your own permaculture or regenerative farm or back yard tree nursery. As you will see, propagating your own trees is not complicated, no degree is needed. Folks have been propagating trees for thousands of years. No Google, internet or college degree was needed for them. You can do this. You can reap the rewards of growing trees as your system also reaps the rewards from you growing trees. Plus, propagating trees is just plain cool and fun!

Hi over there, bonjour
Thank you for your podcasts, it’s a pleasure to listen to you ,:- )
Food forest grower, I have the same spirit here, in the southeast of France, zone 6B, hot dry summers – cool/cold wet winters.
Would you be interested in some exchange? Please have a look at the plants growing at our place. I might not have all of them every year, it’ depending on current year’s growth. I would be interested in scions but also seeds.
Most cordially,
